Original hardwood floors in Melbourne homes from the 1960s–1980s are often hidden under carpet or dulled by decades of wear. A professional buff and polish — sanding back to bare timber, applying stain if desired, then sealing with a durable finish — can restore them to better than new condition without the cost of replacement.

Herringbone Flooring
Herringbone is one of the most timeless and visually striking floor patterns — and one of the most technically demanding to install correctly. The setting-out must be precise, the subfloor perfectly level, and the installer experienced with pattern work.
A poorly set-out herringbone pattern is immediately obvious — misaligned rows, off-centre layouts and poorly cut edges are expensive to rectify. Kay manages the full process from layout planning through to final inspection, ensuring the pattern is centred, the cuts are clean and the result is exactly what you envisioned.
